Alicia 'Suga Mamma' Zellous
"I was born by the river!." Just kidding, I love to laugh, and this is going to be a little lengthy because I want you to know who Suga Mamma really is. So, sit back, grab a cup because I have some tea to share.
I, Alicia was born in the small town of Brunswick, GA. In my much earlier childhood, I was such a tomboy and loved to get dirty, but hey, you haven't played hard until you have gotten dirty.
My mom, being a great cook and baker, tried to teach me but cooking was the last thing I wanted to spend my time doing.
One day the tomboy became a woman, got married, and had three children. You can only show up at your mother's for dinner with family in town a couple of times a week, so not cooking was no longer an option, therefore I quickly gravitated towards the kitchen. In 2004, I asked my mom, "LaLa" as I called her all my life, to share her Sour Crème Pound Cake recipe with me. After much debate, pleading, and begging she gave in and revealed her secret recipe. I mastered the recipe and began to use God-given ideas to make the recipe better and better.

While seeking God for a way to provide for my three children, God gave me the idea through a close friend (April Nias, the visionary) to start a business offering America's forgotten favorite dessert- the pound cake.
Very reluctant, months went by and I finally gave in to the idea. Over the years, God began to use what I mastered and shared what was once just a gift of love with my family and friends to now a new flourishing business. He even gave me the name through a friendly conversation with my closest childhood friend, Cheryl LeCount. And in San Antonio, TX 2004, Suga Mamma was born.

Through the years, God showed me that this gift was indeed a ministry of love. He uses the cake flavors to tickle your ears, the presentation to draw your eyes, the taste to capture your attention and HIS amazing love that he allows me to add as THE MAIN ingredient to keep you coming back for more so WE can love on you.
So I invite you to continue the tradition of enjoying and sharing one of America’s forgotten Southern treats, the pound cake. Suga Mamma’s Pound Cakes, it’s not just a name, it’s an EXPERIENCE!!
